Happy National Coming Out Day!
"National Coming Out Day is an internationally observed civil awareness day celebrating
individuals who publicly identify as bisexual, gay, lesbian, transgender –
coming out regarding ones sexual orientation and/or gender identity being akin
to a cultural rite of passage for LGBT people. The holiday is observed annually
by members of the LGBT community on October 11." - HRC
So, today, no matter how you identify, someone close to you may need you to hear what they have to share. Please be kind and respectful, because that person chose you to trust and to share with. Know that they may be scared, nervous, excited ... who knows, but, again remember, you are the one they came to.
To anyone who is coming out today, or another day, you are not alone.
